Photo Instructions for Your Beauty Blueprint

How to Take the Best Photo for Your Beauty Blueprint

Your report can only be as accurate as the photograph provided. Follow these instructions before uploading.

Use This Type of Photograph

  • Front-facing with the camera level with the face
  • Entire face visible from forehead through chin
  • Even natural light or soft indoor light
  • Image in sharp focus and high enough resolution to see the eyes, brows, cheeks, and lips
  • Neutral, relaxed expression
  • Hair moved away from the main facial features
  • Little or no makeup when possible
  • No beauty filter or automatic face reshaping

Avoid

  • Strong overhead shadows or bright light from only one side
  • Extreme close-up distortion or a photograph taken from far below or above
  • Sunglasses, tinted glasses, hats, or hair covering important features
  • Heavy existing makeup that hides natural placement
  • Blur, screenshots, compressed social-media images, or low resolution
  • Portrait filters, face-smoothing filters, or edited facial proportions

Best Camera Position

Hold the camera at eye level and far enough away to avoid wide-angle distortion. Face the lens directly. Keep the head upright rather than tilted. A plain background is helpful but not required.

Lighting Check

Both eyes and both sides of the face should be clearly visible. If one side is much darker, move toward a window or use softer, more even light.

Privacy Reminder

Submit only a photograph you are authorized to use. A parent or legal guardian should submit and approve any photograph of a minor. Customer photographs are not used publicly without separate permission.
